Elizabeth Schenk, AAI, CPIW, Chief Executive Officer

Thirty years ago, almost to the day, I walked into an insurance brokerage in Florida and applied for a “temporary” job as a receptionist.  I immediately fell in love with the business and began my journey.  I spent several years in an independent agency as a producer and agency manager.  Building a $500,000 revenue book was one of the toughest jobs I ever had.

When I moved to Pennsylvania in 1995, my career path moved to the carrier side as an underwriter.  My time as a producer helped me become a better underwriter because I understood just how hard it was to get to the point of submitting an application.  The best part of my job was working with the agents and that led me to the field as a production underwriter with Berkley Mid-Atlantic Group.  Later, I was hired as a territory manager for Liberty Mutual, eventually responsible for marketing and field operations in a 5 state region.

My years in the field exposed me to agency networks across the country. This distribution concept intrigued me and I became Liberty’s relationship manager for several well-known networks, one of which was Keystone Insurers Group.  In 2010, I joined Keystone to lead their geographic expansion.  During my nine years with Keystone, the footprint expanded from 6 states to 13 and the premium volume more than doubled.

I am truly excited to join ANE because the company is blessed with an outstanding staff of insurance professionals who, along with the Board of Directors, are focused on helping ANE members and carrier partners grow organically and profitably.

Neal Stanley, Interim Chief Operating Officer & Consultant

Neal Stanley has over 40 years’ experience as the president or senior officer of insurance companies and agencies. Most recently he was associated with United Valley Insurance Services, Inc., one of the nation’s largest agency networks, serving as a director and Chief Operating Officer. Neal retired from United Valley in 2016, but continues as in a consulting role with the company, assisting its member agencies in perpetuation and acquisitions.

He joined the Board of Directors of ANE, Agency Network Exchange, LLC in 2016 as the company’s first Independent Board Member. Neal has served on the Board of Directors of numerous industry organizations and is an active member of the State Bar of California.

Jocelyn R. Rineer CIC, CLP, CIIP, Senior Vice President, Field Operations

Jocelyn joined ANE from E&K Agency, Inc. of Eatontown, NJ, where she served for fifteen years as Commercial Lines Marketing Manager with responsibility for placing a wide variety of commercial lines risks with numerous standard and wholesale outlets.

In her role as Senior Vice President of Field Services, Rineer is the primary contact for ANE’s New Jersey agency network. She works with member agencies to develop plans to generate organic growth, maximize agency relationships and expanding individual agencies. A licensed producer, Jocelyn holds the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation.

Linda Foley, Director, Field Operations

Linda joined ANE in 2018 after most recently working as a Senior Marketing Rep for Mercury Insurance for three years. She was recognized at Mercury for her ability to develop production and build positive relationships with her assigned agencies. Linda started her insurance career more than a decade ago at Plymouth Rock Insurance where she quickly became a top sales producer in their direct sales operations. She spent a number of years taking on positions of increasing responsibility as a sales trainer, sales supervisor, hiring and training staff and eventually as the training supervisor. In this role, she was responsible for building out the training department for their in-house agency.

In this role, Linda is responsible for ANE Member Agencies in southern New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania where she develops and implements growth plans, and maintains agency relationships.

Alyssa Delaney, Manager, Field Operations

Alyssa started her career in insurance when she joined ANE in 2013 as a Marketing Assistant. She has since then grown into her position as Manager of Field Operations where she handles back-end operations for field staff and the ANE network. She is responsible for improving organizational processes, productivity and efficiency.

Alyssa is a graduate of Rutgers University New Brunswick where she attended on a full academic scholarship and holds a B.A. in Journalism and Media Studies. She is also an active member and Treasurer of New Jersey’s Young Insurance Professionals group.

John H. Emmons, Manager, Membership Development

John joined ANE after finding retirement just a little too retiring. With a career spanning four decades with several major insurance companies, and having held the positions of branch manager, territory manager, sales manager as well as highly rewarded sales representative, John is known by agency owners throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York.

In this role, John is helping ANE build our network of independently-owned member agencies in Pennsylvania.

Lisa Melroy, Director, Accounting & Operations

Lisa has over 25 years of experience working as an accounting professional and 20 years as a certified public accountant. Lisa’s background includes expertise in budgets, forecasts, strategic planning, problem-solving and project management. Prior to her current position, Lisa spent over 10 years in the nonprofit sector as an executive and 17 years in the corporate world as a Controller for both the insurance and banking industries.

Currently, Lisa is the Board Treasurer for Impact Services Corporation which is a nonprofit located in Philadelphia that works to support individuals, families, and communities to build a safe and stable future. She is a graduate of Rowan University and resides in Mount Laurel with her family.

Raymond Pavese, Chairman of the Board

Ray joined the Prudential Life Insurance Company in Newport, RI after graduating from Roger Williams University in 1986. Within a year, he joined his father at the Pavese-McCormick Insurance Agency and built a sales model and culture to expand the Agency footprint from Middlesex County to thousands of clients throughout New Jersey. Eventually buying the agency with Michael McCormick from their fathers, the agency is now one of the largest in central New Jersey with clients spread across the Mid-Atlantic region. He is a past President of the Middlesex County Independent Insurance Agents, Exchange Club of New Brunswick, the Brunswick Bank and Trust Advisory Board, and the Executive’s Association of New Jersey (EANJ), one of the oldest and most prestigious networking organization in New Jersey.

Ray is a founder of Agency Network Exchange, LLC.

Vincent Hager CIRMS, Vice Chairman of the Board

A Principal and President of JGS Insurance, Vinnie has been in the insurance business his entire life. Vinnie joined his father and brother at JGS Insurance in 1989 after graduating from Villanova University. He is a recognized expert on insuring community associations and is active with the Community Associations Institute (CAI). He holds the designation CIRMS™ (Community Insurance and Risk Management Specialist). Vinnie has served on the Board of Directors of CAI and is a past President of the New Jersey Chapter. He has also chaired the National Insurance and Risk Management Committee for the CAI National Organization and actively serves on several Committees. Vinnie has also been active with the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of New Jersey. He also has served as past President for the Independent Agents Monmouth County.

Ken Hager, Secretary

A Principal and Chief Operating Officer of JGS Insurance, Ken joined his father at the agency in 1987. He is also President of Preferred Property Program, Inc., a risk purchasing group administered by the agency that provides various specialty insurance programs for condominium associations and certain habitational markets. Active in industry affairs, he is a past national chair of the Community Association Institute’s Insurance Risk Management Committee; past chair of Firemans Fund’s National Small Business Committee and past national chair of CNA’s Global Specialty Lines PACER Committee. Ken is also very active in his local community currently serving as Vice President of the Tinton Falls, NJ Board of Education.

Stephen Perna, Treasurer

After attending Ramapo College, Steve joined his father A. Vincent Perna and brothers Vince & Tom Perna at United Assurance in 1985. Steve is responsible for purchasing the agency’s first computer in the mid 80’s and implementing and managing all aspects of technology utilized by the agency over the last 30 years. Along with technology, Steve managed the agency’s Personal Lines Division along with sales and servicing of the agency’s high net worth accounts. Over the years, Steve has served on a number of company agency advisory councils.

After graduating from Marist College in 2011, Steve’s son Anthony joined United Assurance, continuing his grandfather’s agency into its third generation. Steve’s second son John is currently attending Marist College and plans to be working with his father within the next few years.

In January 2015, Steve accepted the position of Director of Operations of United Assurance. As Director, he is responsible for all aspects of agency operations, while working along side his brother Ken Perna, the agency’s CFO.

In his spare time, Steve can be found skiing, cycling or fishing.
